Orchid City: sustainable living
Orchid City is an integrated city “Design, Build & Operate” model, scalable from 500 to 50.000+ people. The model applies to new cities, as well as conversions from old industrial or disaffected areas.
Orchid City has been developed in the Netherlands by Except and is now rolled out over the globe.
It is a feasible self-sustaining city model, producing its own energy, essential food, and 100% jobs for its citizens. It manages 100% of its waste and recycles water. It is a carbon-neutral city model that fulfills various SDGs.
Orchid City is developed with a wide range of international partners. Indo-Pacific Environmental Hub is proud to be part of the development team, contributing its all-renewable “Smart Power Gen” microgrid design, as well as its “Plastic Harvest & Upcycling” public-private partnership model that collects and sequestrates 100% of a region’s plastic waste.
